Weh Yeoh - Director
Weh Yeoh is a five-time founder. After co-founding WhyDev, a non profit organisation committed to getting international development right, he founded OIC Cambodia in 2013. OIC is an initiative that aims to establish speech therapy as a profession in Cambodia. He co-founded Happy Kids Clinic, a social enterprise which supports OIC.
He has both a BA in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney and an MA in Development Studies from the University of NSW. He has volunteered with people with disabilities in Vietnam, interned in India, studied Mandarin in Beijing, and milked yaks in Mongolia.
Weh is recognised by the University of Sydney as both an Adjunct Senior Lecturer and the Alumni Award for Service to Humanity for Faculty of Health Sciences. He is also one of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians.
To add to his list of achievements, Weh was recognised by Third Sector Awards as the Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019.
Fariza Fatima - Director
I am passionate about systems change. My involvement in OIC came given my knowledge and expertise in building NGO capability, I supported some of the work of Grameen Australia given my passion for local and international development.
As a migrant myself, moving to Australia when I was 8, and learning how to speak English with the help of Learning support teacher, I found communication challenging, I can only imagine how someone who isn’t able to speak would navigate the world. I was very lucky that even at a public school I had support and guidance to practice and learn how to communicate in English, which really set me up for success, I was then able to pursue my dream of studying law to make a little difference in the spaces I occupy.
I look forward to the day when OIC is able to support children and young people to use their voices for good.
Jessica Wong-Saunderson - Director
Jessica is a tax lawyer and accountant and has 15 years of experience gained in the Big 4 accounting firm environment assisting investors and multinational groups with their cross border projects. She has worked in Melbourne, Kolkata, New York and Sydney where she is currently based. Jessica is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She joined the OIC Australia board in 2022. She's also the co-founder of a start up called MumbleMe, an online marketplace that connects professionally skilled mums and other individuals with flexible work opportunities.
Jessica's passion is to be able to use her skills, energy and time to champion equality and inclusion, and to help those that are in need / disadvantaged to live better quality lives in practical and tangible ways. Jessica believes we are blessed to be a blessing to others and to lend a helping hand where needed. Jessica is excited to use her professional expertise as a lawyer and accountant, and leadership and strategic skills gained through working with various organisations, to contribute and to help further the mission of OIC Australia.
As a foodie and culture lover, and a new mum, she spends her weekends balancing baby friendly activities and checking out new restaurants and cultural events.
Russell Barratt - Director
Russell is a passionate sales and marketing leader, with extensive experience working with consumer goods and services across multiple categories and channels. He has a deep understanding of the Australian market as well as direct exposure across major international markets and has held a number of senior executive positions.
Having worked with many iconic brands, he has developed strong strategic capability, based on data and insights, cross-functional operating planning, and broad stakeholder management. He is driven to deliver clear, effective, and sustainable organisational outcomes.
Russell holds a Master of Business Administration (Deakin University), is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Chartered Manager & Fellow (CMgr FIML) of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, and a Fellow & Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) of the Australian Institute of Marketing.
His Directorial experience began through active involvement in peak industry bodies and associations, moving to Chairing a privately held commercial enterprise. Interest is now directed to Board roles within the NFP sector.
Russell is an elected and active committee member for his local Progress Association and is also involved in providing support within the expanding Home Care sector.
Sue Walker - Company Secretary
Sue Walker is a senior manager and chartered secretary with 25 years’ experience in driving good governance, engagement and growth in the global not-for-profit/charity and public sectors.
As the first Regional Director Asia Pacific with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, she set up the regional operations of the growing global charity and its association, travelled to over 50 countries and led major change and digitalisation projects, complex stakeholder engagement and new markets entry and strategy. In 2022, Sue was an inaugural recipient of The Founder’s Medal for exceptional international service to the Award.
She is a Graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course and holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of South Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia. A dual Fellow member of the Governance Institute of Australia and the Chartered Governance Institute.
Her passion combines a strong interest in the Asia Pacific region and applying governance expertise, through enabling and partnering with volunteer boards and management teams, to run organisations legally, ethically, sustainably and successfully – for the benefit of young people, stakeholders and society.
Sue’s volunteer activity includes joining OIC Australia in 2023 and as a strata committee member in the Sydney-CBD where she is based.
